An Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, painless test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It helps detect irregular heartbeats, blocked arteries, heart damage, and other cardiac conditions.
Types of ECG Tests
- Resting ECG
Performed while the patient is lying down to measure the heart’s electrical activity at rest.
- Stress (Exercise) ECG
Conducted while walking on a treadmill or cycling to assess how the heart performs under physical activity.
- Holter Monitoring (24–48 hours)
A portable ECG device worn at home to record heart activity continuously over 1–2 days.

What Should You Know Before The Test
